Our Guest Designer…

Morning all, thanks for taking time out of your Sunday  to stop by

Can you believe it’s September tomorrow? I think I must say this every month but I just can’t believe how quickly the time flies by

We have our next Lili of the Valley open day planned for September 20th so keep a lookout on here, Facebook and the website for details over the next week or so. There are 2 workshops with our fabulous Dawny but these are filling up so if you would like a place don’t wait too long to get yourself booked in; you can find all the details here

Vicky has been our fabulous Guest Designer for August and today I have the last make from her…

Vicky 4 - August - James Umbrella

Vicky used one of our popular James the Bear stamps on her beautiful card, this image is called James Umbrella

If you prefer to use the Art Pads this cutie is also available in the James and Jenny Bear pad

The circular sentiment is on the useful Pretty Grungy Relations set and the wording at the bottom is one of our Handwritten Phrases

You can see all the details and more of Vicky’s lovely cards on her own blog here

I’d like to thank Vicky for joining us as a Guest Designer, I know you’ve all enjoyed seeing her work

I’ll have a new Guest designer to introduce in a couple of days, another clever crafter who some of you will already be familiar with and she’s a big Lili of the Valley fan

We’ll have a candy draw as always today so leave a comment on Vicky’s card

Our winner from Friday is Sue Nicholson, well done Sue please email your address to

Have a great day everyone, enjoy the rest of the weekend

Saturday Sketch…

Morning crafters, it’s Saturday again so I have a new Sketch for you and a lovely card made by our Lou

This adorable image is called In The Lamplight and she used lots of our little background elements and sentiments on her card, you can find all the details on Lou’s own blog

Here’s this weeks Sketch, you can see that Lou chose to use a shaped card base and add a few die cuts but as always the Sketches are just a layout guide and you can move things around to suit your project…

Sketch #25

The full back catalogue of our Sketches can be found at the top of the blog so they are a handy reference if you need some ideas

As always leave a comment to be in the draw for today’s candy, our winner from the Theme Thursday linky was number 80 and that was you Cathy (kraftykoolkat)

Aug 28th winner

Congratulations Cathy, please email your address to

See you tomorrow everyone, have a lovely day

Die Cutting your toppers…

Morning all, I have 2 art pad cards to share today

This first one was made for us by the lovely Amanda Stokes who helps make samples for our shop

This cute image is in the new Penguin Pals pad and the sentiment is from the Christmas Wishes set

photo 1

This next card is one that Mary J made, this cute little girl is also available as a stamp called Christmas Treats but Mary used the topper from the Vintage Christmas pad

The papers are from T’was The Night and another sentiment from our popular Christmas Wishes set

Christmas Treats and Papers - Mary

A few of you have asked about die cutting our new toppers. Some of the images are a little bit smaller but when you take into account how many extra you get for the same money we thought it was a good compromise. With 60 images in each pad for just £6.00 with free worldwide postage they are a fantastic buy.

There are two images on each page in the new pads and they will still fit in many of the basic shape dies or look great just used as a square or rectangle with no die cutting necessary

I’ve chosen these two cards today because they are perfect examples of how to get round it if the die you want to use is just a bit too big. Mary and Amanda both used a circle die that was a little bit larger than the image and offset it. Amanda cleverly disguised the flat edge with a sentiment on her card  and Mary placed the image to one side. Mary often does this with her cards even when it’s not necessary and I think it’s a great effect

Hope that’s given you a bit of inspiration, I’ll have a few more cards to show you using the new art pads in the coming week. I have a new Sketch for tomorrow and then on Sunday it’s the last card from our August guest designer Vicky so make sure you stop  by over the weekend

As always we’ll have our daily giveaway so leave a comment each day if you want to be in the draw for some candy! Congratulations to our winner from Wednesday, it’s you IleanaA so please send your address to

Enjoy your Friday crafters, see you tomorrow

Time Flies…

Morning lovely crafty friends, hope those of you in the UK had a nice bank holiday weekend…  the weather was completely rubbish here but at least it meant I could get a bit of crafting done. An hour here or there isn’t enough to get stuck into a new project so it was lovely to have a full morning and try something new. If it turns out ok I’ll share it soon, if it doesn’t it will be going in the bin!!

I have a lovely simple card for you today, this is by Jen and she used one of the Birthday Fairy stamps that we launched for our 10th birthday earlier in the year…

Time Flies - Jen

This little cutie is called Time Flies and she is also in the Magical Fairies art pad if you prefer to use the pre-coloured toppers

Jen used a sentiment that you probably won’t have seen before, this is on our Summer Bears companion set If you haven’t seen this clear set then do take a look as it’s full of cute little mini images and sentiments, you get a full A5 sheet for just £12.99 and they are so useful

Hope you like it, here are the winners of our Bank Holiday giveaway, if you left a comment over the weekend then you were in the draw...

 Heather G and Glennis

Well done ladies you each win one of our new patterned paper pads, please send your addresses to

We're back to our usual daily candy so if you'd like to be in with a chance of winning today then leave a comment

Me and my dog…

Hello everybody, thanks for stopping by on this August Bank Holiday

We’ve had a nice long weekend here in the UK, it’s the last one of the year although it’s going to rain for the whole day here I think!

I’m going to have a break from Christmas for a couple of days and share some cards that are a bit more summery…

today I have a lovely one from our Dawny using the Milly Me and my Dog stamp

Millie Me and My Dog - Dawny

I adore this colour combo, Dawny used one of the Scroll Sentiments and papers from our gorgeous Up, Up & Away and Country Meadow pads…

Dawny has been making some 8 x 8 cards for a change and they look great, lots of room for all your lovely embellies and you can really show off the pretty papers too with the extra space…  they are certainly a bit of a statement card!

That’s me done, leave a comment if you would like a chance to win one of our lovely paper pads, I’ll be drawing 2 winners tomorrow from the comments left over the weekend

Have a lovely day everyone

New Saturday Sketch…

Good morning bloggers, it looks set to be quite nice here for the next couple of days so I think I’ll try and get the garden tidied up a bit. I’ve neglected it this year, I do enjoy pottering in the garden but I really just want to spend every spare minute that I have crafting!!

The DT have made lots of cards using this year’s new Christmas images, I know you like to see plenty of inspiration using them and today I have another by Dena

This cute stamp is called Hat’s Off

Hats Off - Dena

Dena used papers from the new ‘Twas The Night pad and the sentiment is on the Christmas Wishes set

Here’s the matching Sketch, a nice simple one which you can always embellish to your own taste… Dena added some Christmassy flowers and a few pearls.

Sketch #24

You can see all our Sketches on the Sketch Page at the top of the blog, they are really useful for layout ideas and don’t forget that it’s just a guideline and you can rotate the elements to suit your style
