Foxgloves …

Good morning, hope everyone is enjoying the weekend so far...

If you have some spare time over the Easter holidays don’t forget that you can see lots of card ideas on our new Pinterest boards. Lucy has divided them up into categories and you can see hundreds of cards at a glance on each board

If you haven’t discovered Pinterest yet then I would recommend you have a look

Beware though  …it is a bit addictive once you get ‘pinning’ and the hours can just fly by!

***

Today I have another sneak peek for you of the new stamps. You can get these in our Lili of the Valley shop on Saturday April 6th and they will be available to order on the website on April 8th …so not long to wait now!

This is one of our 4 new flower designs and Fleur has used Foxgloves…

Foxgloves - Fleur

Fleur’s lovely cards are very popular with our customers and if you are able to visit the shop in Farsley sometime you will be able to see a selection of them on display  …the pictures don’t do them justice!

That’s it from me, enjoy your Saturday

We have family coming round tonight so its cooking and cleaning for me today  …oh joy!!

Mme de Pompadour …

Good morning crafters, thanks for stopping by

We’ve had lots of new followers this past few weeks and our blog has gone up in the Crafty Blog ratings which we’re really pleased about

Welcome to all our new followers  …and to those of you that have been here a while, thanks for your support!

If you’ve not visited before then I need to tell you that we have a new card to show you on here every single day so do make it a regular stop. Also at the end of each month all the comments that were left during that month go into a draw to win a £25 voucher to spend on our website

***

A few of you have asked about the cutting dies that we sell in our shop. The website will continue to be for our own products, stamps and paper crafting, and we won’t be putting any other craft supplies on there

If there is a particular die that you are wanting give us a ring, if we have it in the shop then we would be happy to take an order over the telephone for you

***

Double trouble today with our fabulous Mme de Pompadour!

Gretha made these two gorgeous cards using the new designs;

This first one is called 'Dainty Cake’

clip_image001

…and this one is Looking Glass

clip_image001[5]

Gretha will put them on her own blog if you would like to see what she used

***

We are sponsoring a Spring blog hop by Crafty Ribbons today and a few of our Design Team girls are joining in

If you would like to play along and be in with a chance of winning some great prizes then have a look here

***

For your information, the Leeds shop and our offices are closed after today for the Easter holidays; we’ll be back on Tuesday

You will still be able to order as usual on the website and there will be a new card on here everyday, but you won’t be able to ring us or visit the shop and no orders will be sent out until Tuesday

If you are waiting for items then please bear in mind that there is no postal service over the bank holiday here in the UK so the orders that have already been mailed will be delayed by a few days

Have a good day, see you tomorrow.

It Takes Two …

Good morning everyone, nearly April and we still unbelievably have lots of snow here  …and it’s sooo bloomin cold

We sometimes go camping at Easter, I don’t think we’ll be doing that this year lol

.

We still have a few unclaimed goodie bags from our 3000 followers candy draw last week so don’t forget to look back and check the list of lucky winners, if we don’t hear anything from those people we’ll draw some more names later in the week

.

I have another sneaky peek today for you, these are 2 of our new characters Patch and Puss  …and the stamp is called It Takes Two

.

JPP It Takes Two - Dawny

Our Dawny made this lovely card and she’s put all the details on her own blog if you would like to know what she’s used

Glamorous Gardening …

Good morning bloggers, thanks for stopping by

Before today’s card I just want to tell you about some new products we have in our shop;

We have the new Spellbinders shaped borders (LOVE these!) along with some of the imperial gold dies. Our Spellbinders dies are all up to 20% off RRP and we do have a selection of popular sets that are reduced even further just to make room for new stock

We also have the new LaLa Land and Noor Design dies that everyone has been asking for as well as the latest 2013 range from memory Box

For embellishing your cards we now at last have been able to get hold of the crafty gauze and tulle that our design team use and also some lovely doilies in 3 different sizes

So many customers asked about candle stamping after seeing Dawny demonstrate it at our open day that we now stock some good quality candles and tissue paper, there is a free tutorial on the website showing you how to do it

This is in addition to all the other goodies that we keep in stock; Marianne and Cheery Lynn dies, Martha Stewart and EK Success punches, distress inks, full colour ranges of Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Copic Ciao pens

We have blank card and envelope packs in various shapes and styles, coloured card, ribbons and a lovely selection of Wild Orchid Craft flowers  …the list is endless and this is all alongside our own fabulous stamps, toppers and paper pads!

The shop is open 10 – 3 weekdays and also the first Saturday of every month 10 – 4. We have some workshops on our Saturday opening so if you would like to check those out I think there are a few places left for April  …there is a full list on the website here

***

For todays post I wanted to show you this adorable box made by our Moni

You can use the stamps and die cuts for so many things other than cards and this little project is a perfect example…

Lilacs …

Morning all, hope you had a good weekend?

I have another sneaky peek to show you today and this is one of our 4 new flowers designs …

This one is called Lilacs and our Lou made this lovely card

As we’ve come to expect from Lou there are lots of little hidden extra goodies from her on this card that you might not see on first look

The gorgeous purple patterned paper is made with our Vintage Background stamp and she’s also stamped the button with it too to make it match (what a good idea!)

She’s used the useful stitching from our Babies Companion Set above and below the image

Tucked behind the main image is our Grunge Postcard and Happy Birthday is from the Scroll Sentiments set

Finally she’s used one of our Grunge Tickets  with the matching words

***

Hope you like it, these flowers are a bit different for us so be sure to let us know what you think and you’ll be entered into our monthly draw to win a £25 voucher

This months winner will be just in time for the new release; the stamps will available on April 6th in our Leeds shop and online from April 8th

One for the boys …

Morning all, how’s your weekend so far?

It’s the last day of the Hobby Crafts show at the NEC in Birmingham so if you’re going along don’t forget to stop by our stand B12 and say hi to Rich

Apologies again for the closure of the shop at short notice on Friday but we couldn’t get in because of the heavy snow, business as usual tomorrow and we’ll be open 10 – 3

***

It’s a while since I showed a boys card so here’s one for today …

Computer Fun

This cute little chap called Computer Fun is one of our older images but he’s still really popular   …so useful for boys who like to play computer games (and most do!)

The star border is a Magnolia Doo Hickey die and it’s a great one to use for boys cards

The star tag is also a Doo Hickey die, this is useful for putting a number on if you need a card for a specific age

***

Hope you like it, remember only a couple more days until the next candy draw so if you want to be in with a chance of a £25 voucher don’t forget to leave a comment as you pass through

That’s it from me, if you get chance visit my own blog here as I’ll have another sneaky peek later today of the new stamps

Enjoy your Sunday

Big Hug …

Good morning everyone, Saturday again, where on earth do these weeks go?

We’re snowed in again here  …I don’t think it stopped all through the night!

Those of you who live in lovely sunny places I hope you’ll give us a thought today while we’re having this strange and very unseasonal weather!!

I have a lovely cheery card to brighten our day up, this is another sneaky peek and these are 2 of our new characters  …Patch the puppy and Jack the rabbit

Gretha made this lovely card and the stamp is called Big Hug

clip_image001

clip_image001[4]

clip_image001[6]

She’s used papers from our smashing Bear Necessities pad

Gretha gets an amazing depth of colour using her distress inks to colour with, we are lucky to  have some very clever girls on our design team!

Hope you like what you’ve seen so far of the new release, don’t forget all the comments go into a draw at the end of the month to win a £25 voucher so do let us know what you think

Have a lovely weekend

Little Mermaid …

Good morning crafters, we drove back up from Birmingham last night and there were severe weather warnings the whole way back   ...we've woken up this morning and we're snowed in AGAIN!
It's officially Spring and we're not able to get to work   ...what's going on! I don't think any of you would have actually ventured out to Leeds to our shop but we have had to close again today so I'm sorry for any incovenience caused

***

So what did you think of our Mme de Pompadour then?  …we’ve had some great feedback so far and we’re really pleased that you love her as much as we did. Sorry you won't be able to get her at the NEC, the release date is set for April 6th

Make sure you keep a look out for all the sneak peeks over the next couple of weeks on here and on the Design Team blogs
.
.

Today it’s time for another card from our very special guest designer this month Iris

Iris has used one of our Little Mermaid stamps on her lovely card…

Iris 3 March - Little Mermaid 2

There are 3 in this set and this one is Little Mermaid 2
Here are links to the others if you would like to see them all; Little Mermaid 1 and  Little Mermaid Friends
Iris has also used one of the popular Everyday Grungy messages
.

It's the little finishing touches that take a card to the next nevel, and those are things that most of us miss. The little gems just scattered around are something I would never have thought of I'd if already got flowers and swirls ...but they are so effective, like little sparkly bubbles in the water!
.
This is a full list of everything Iris used on her card if you would like to have a go at making it;

Stamps: Little Mermaid 2, Everyday Grungy Messages
Memento ink
Paper: Magnolia
Dies: Catalina Wreath from Memory Box and Spellbinders circles (available in our shop)
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima
Embellishments: Organza ribbon, jute ribbon, gauze, Stickles, pearl-brad, rhinestones,
rhinestone swirl, charm, metal corner embellishment, Glossy Accents
Coloring medium: ShinHan Touch Twin Brush Markers:
Hair: YR31-Y36-BR134
Skin: BR107-YR132-YR133
Pink: RP138-RP196-RP17-WG3-WG0.5
Lilac: P146-P145-P81-P83
Green: BG178-BG179-B68
Outline:B182
.
.
Please have a wander over to Iris’s own blog where you can see more of her beautiful work and don’t forget to come back here tomorrow when I’ll have another sneaky peek to show you
….oh, and don’t forget that we’re on stand B12 if you’re going to the NEC today, Rich would love you to stop by and say hello!

Introducing …

Good morning everyone, as promised here is a sneaky peek at the new images due to be released in April, and this is our fabulous Mme de Pompadour …

Mindy made this lovely card and the stamp is called Dainty Cake
Mme de Pompadour will feature on 2 of our new designs, I’ll be showing you the other one in a few days time
…and she’s definitely not a pink poodle lol
.
Keep checking back because we have lots of new stamps to show you over the next couple of weeks on here and on the DT’s own blogs
.
.
Don’t forget that you can come and see us at the NEC Hobbycrafts show today if you’re there – we’re on stand B12. Because of this we’ve had to close the shop in Farsley just for today,  you will still be able to order on the website and Lucy will be manning the emails so if you do have an urgent query that’s the best way to reach us. Everything will be back to normal tomorrow – apologies for any inconvenience caused by this but we had so many requests to go the NEC after we missed last Autumn that we wanted to try and accommodate
.
.
Have a lovely day all

Milly Flower Power …and some news!

Good morning bloggers, before today’s card I have a couple of important newsy bits for you;

***

Firstly, our office and shop will be CLOSED on Thursday (21st)

You will still be able to order on the website but there won’t be anyone to take orders or queries over the telephone until we open again on Friday 22nd at 9.30am

Lucy will be still be answering all your emails during the day so if you do have a problem that will be the quickest way to reach us. You can use the ‘contact us’  form on the website or email directly admin@liliofthevalley.co.uk

The shop will be open as usual today, tomorrow and Friday 10 am –3 pm

***

Next we need to just have a little bit of a moan!

Since we have joined Pinterest we have become aware that there are an awful lot of pins of our stamped images that do not include watermarks

We’re sure that most people just do it for reference and probably don't even realise that there is a problem  …but as you know we don't produce digi images and pinning them without the watermark is against our copyright

Can we ask anyone on Pinterest to please check your boards and delete any pins that are LOTV images without watermarks. You are very welcome to pin images directly from our website that are protected by a watermark

Our Pinterest boards, the blog and the card galleries on the website contain over 1000 card samples for your inspiration and we are more than happy for you to put these onto your own boards

We will be starting to monitor this situation in order to protect our artists and the integrity of our products, if any of you that do go on Pinterest (or indeed anywhere else) notice that our images are being copied or shared we would be very grateful if you bring it to our attention. Any information that we receive will of course be treated confidentially

Many thanks for your cooperation x

***

Onto todays card now and this is something a bit different  …we can always rely on our Lou to think outside the box!

Milly Flower Power - Lou

Lou has used Milly Flower Power and cleverly paper pieced the flower to match the background

The sentiments are from our Everyday Grungy Messages and I love how she’s used one in the centre of the flower

The little fence is a Memory Box die that we have in our shop. It’s been heat embossed with silver powder to look like metal, a simple technique but isn’t it effective?

***

That’s it from me, have a lovely day everyone and make sure you stop by later to see if you were a lucky winner in our fantastic 3000 followers candy draw

Tomorrow I’ll have news for you about our next stamp release!!

Playtime Puppy …

Morning all, thanks for stopping by

Just before today’s card can I remind everyone that sometimes your orders do take the full 5-7 days to ship that is stated on the website

We know you just can’t wait to receive your goodies and we do usually try to get them posted in a day or 2 …but at busy times we can’t always manage it

We’ve had so many emails and telephone calls chasing up orders from last week, we had hundreds of orders and Rich is at the shows so I’m afraid they are taking the full time to pack and ship at the moment; the last of the sale orders were sent out yesterday so should be with you shortly

***

Onto todays card and this is something a bit different from Mindy

Playtime Puppy - Mindy

She’s tried the ‘no line’ stamping technique and used Playtime Puppy

You need to use a light coloured ink to stamp your image instead of the usual black and then when it’s coloured it looks like there are no outer edges. I like the soft effect it gives for a change

Mindy has also used the words and numbers from the Babies Companion set

***

Hope you like it, see you tomorrow x

The Charleston …

Good morning bloggers and thanks for stopping by

Just before today’s card  I’ve noticed that a few of you are asking questions in the comments section. We do read all the comments but can’t reply directly on the blog, although I do try to visit you and leave a reply I don’t always get round to it. If you email us admin@liliofthevalley.co.uk or use the contact us box on the website you will get an answer much quicker from Lucy!

A few of you have asked about us selling dies, inks etc. online. We’re not a general craft supplier and the website will continue to be only for our own products  …however if there was a specific item you wanted such as a die then do get in touch and if we have it in stock we would be happy to post it out to you with your order

***

Todays card is one I made using The Charleston which was from our popular Romantic Couples

Feb 20th 012

I loved all the stamps in this release, they’re so useful!

The ‘love you’ sentiment is from the Handwritten Phrases set and I’ve used the gorgeous Country Lady papers

Hope you like it, I’ll put the rest of the supplies on my own blog later today if you would like to know what I used

Don’t forget to leave a comment as they all go into a draw at the end of the month to win a £25 voucher!

I’m back, and I finally have the winners from our Birthday Card competition last week   …hooray!!

.

It was so hard to pick our favourites, we had lots of really lovely entries and some of you had clearly gone to a lot of effort

We couldn’t agree on a Top 3 so all of us in the Lili of the Valley office picked our favourites and then those with the most votes are the winners, so here goes…

.

Firstly our first prize winner drawn at random, and this is

.

Pouwla

.

Well done Pouwla, please email me anne@liliofthevalley.co.uk with your address, you have won 9 stamps of your choice

.

This was Pouwla’s lovely card and she’s used the cute I Baked A Cake stamp

.

.

.

Now onto our Top 3 who all win a Guest DT spot with us  …and with that comes a fantastic opportunity to have their work showcased on our blog and our Facebook page where we have over 8000 followers between them…

.

.

Nela

.

.

We loved what Nela did with our Birthday Bumps stamp, we always enjoy seeing the images used in an imaginative way!

She’s also made this lovely box for the chocolate egg using a circular sentiment from Set 6 Dreamy Days   …and she’s used our Perfect Pair papers on both the box and the card
