Guest DT day …

Good morning crafters, unbelievably it’s the end of yet another month …so time for our last post from our guest designer for September

We’ve enjoyed having Kath and Buddy on board and you have loved the work that she has done for us

 

Kath has made this gorgeous little book for us using one of our die cut designs

This image is from the Romantic Times sheet, they are A4 and you get 6 designs on each sheet for just £1.00

This cute couple are also available on a stamp if you prefer, it’s called Times to Treasure and you can find it on our website here

It’s Saturday ….

 

 

 

Good morning crafters, it’s the weekend again so I hope you’re all doing something nice today

We had a great day yesterday and everyone who visited was very impressed with our new shop and the extended range of crafty goodies that we have

The coffee and cakes went down a treat and we raised lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Support …can I say a big thank you to everyone who supported us with that, it’s a very worthwhile cause

If you weren’t able to come yesterday we are open every Saturday now from 10 until 4 for your convenience

The Geisha Girls …and our new improved shop is open

 

 

 

Good morning everyone, we’ve been really busy the past few days here re-arranging our shop onto 2 floors   …it looks amazing and we really hope that you like it

If you’re able to pop along today it will be lovely to see you   …I’ll maybe put a few pictures up shortly for those of you who are not near enough to visit and then you can see what we’ve been up to!

Our new shop …and another Geisha Girl

Good morning everyone, don’t forget to come and visit us tomorrow if you are near enough. We’re moving our shop onto another floor so that we’ll have room to display all of our products (we have over 400 stamps now) along with hundreds of cards and projects to give you plenty of inspiration to take home with you

We have a fantastic selection of crafting goodies now including the full range of Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Copic Ciao’s

We have glitter, lace and ribbon, adhesives, inks and punches  …and a HUGE choice of dies that we've handpicked for you

You’ll also be the first to see our new coffee shop area so after all that browsing you can rest your feet, have a nice hot drink, chat with friends and flick through some craft magazines

We are taking part in the 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. You can enjoy your cappuccino and cupcake and raise funds for a good cause at the same time!

All proceeds from the sale of of refreshments throughout the day will be donated to Macmillan

Todays card is by Elise using one of the new Geisha Girls which you will be able to get exclusively in the shop on Friday

Elise has used ‘Cho’ and also the little butterflies, scroll and cherry blossom from the accompanying companion set

There is a little set of sentiments to use with the scroll but there is a short delay on the delivery of those. They’ll hopefully be here for the website launch but not for the shop event or Port Sunlight. Don’t forget though that we currently have free delivery so you can get those when we have them and you won’t have any postage to pay

Sneaky Peek, Cho …

Good morning crafters, I hope the weather is a bit better where you are; Autumn has definitely arrived here in Leeds and it’s wet, cold and miserable!

Here’s a cheerful card to hopefully make your day a bit brighter   …this by our Gretha and she’s used the second of our 2 new Geisha Girls

This little cutie is called Cho which translates as ‘butterfly’

 

           

   

  

Gretha has used some patterned papers from our new collection of pads, you can see them all on the website here

These 2 gorgeous girlies are part of a little mini-release which will be on sale in our showroom on Friday along with a set of companion stamps. The scroll, the little bridge scene and the cherry blossom branch are on that set so just wait until you see those too  …you are going to love them!!

The stamps will be available at the Happy Stampers show at Port Sunlight on Saturday and then they will be launched on the website on October 1st …so if you can’t get to the shop or the show then you won’t have long to wait!

News today, and a charity coffee morning …

 

 

If you’re near enough we’d love you to join us on Friday 28th September at our shop in Leeds when we will be opening our new area upstairs so there will be even more crafting goodies for you to see!

There will be a mini-launch of the amazing new Geisha girl stamps so you’ll be able to get your hands on them before anyone else  …if you saw Bev’s card yesterday you’ll have had a sneeky peek and you are going to LOVE them! Watch out for more cards on here this week from our design team using them

We will finally have room for all our 400 rubber stamps to be out out on display, there will be loads more card samples and projects for inspiration and there will also be more room for our popular sentiment stamps, paper pads and die cut designs too

We have some other new lines as well for you such as a fabulous range of dies including Spellbinders, Memory Box and more

 

 

 

We also have a fab new coffee area so after all that browsing you can rest your feet, have a nice hot drink, chat with friends, or even leave your husband - not literally!

(In fact we think we have the most husband-friendly girlie shop in England!)

Sneak Peek

I have a sneak peek for you today, this is Aimi (Japanese for Love and Beauty).  Isn’t she just too sweet for words!?!?

And a close up of little Aimi.  LOVE her hair!!

Lili of the Valley are going to launch them at the shop next Friday 28^th September and then online on 1^st October, along with an A5 Geisha companion sheet and a Scroll Sentiments sheet.  I have used one of the scrolls on my card today.

It’s another guest DT day …

Good morning everyone, hope you’re all well

 

Time for another post from our popular guest designer for his month  Kath and I think that this card is going to open up a whole new world of ideas for you using our die cut sheets!

 

 

 

 

 

Kath has cleverly used the die cut designs alongside the stamps …and isn’t the result fabulous!

 

 

 

 

 

The Christmas Tree and the Baubles are cut from our Traditional Christmas sheet …at just £1 for 6 die cut toppers they’re great value

 

 

The stamps she’s used are the Grunge Postcard, a greeting from set 5 Christmas Circular Sentiments and around the edges are our Grunge Corners

 

 

 

 

She inked the background with pumice stone distress ink and the postcard was coloured with pumice stone and tumbled glass.

 

She’s highlighted the baubles with glossy accents and then gone a bit mad with Frantage embossing enamels!   …I’ve been using these myself and they give amazing texture to your card

Good morning everyone, I have a very lovely card to share with you today that was made for us by Lena Katrine

 

She made it as a sneaky peek for the Christmas stamps and our blog hop but I’ve had so many cards to show you that it’s been held back a bit – I’m sure you’ll agree that it was worth waiting for!

 

 

 

The stamp is Snow Cute and isn’t he the cutest ‘lil penguin you ever saw!

Igloo Bears ….

Paperbag Album Tutorial

Hello!  I have a paperbag album tutorial to share with you today. 

If you look out on the internet, you will find MANY different styles of creating these paperbag albums, this is just one way that you can create it. 

You will need three or more paper bags for this project and I would suggest using the best tape or glue that you have.  It will need to stand the test of time with being handled.

 Start by trimming the top, rough edge, of  each paper bag to make a 12” long bag.  Fold all 3 bags in half.  Lay one folded bag on top of the other and using strong glue adhere the bottom folded portion of one bag to the top folded portion of another, creating a page in the center with the two bags. 
 

 Attach the 3^rd bag the same way.  There will now be four pages with a 6”x3” pocket on each page on the left hand side, and 3 top inserting pockets created from the tops of the bags. 
 

 Glue all pleats on sides of bags and place a small amount of tape along the very edge (top and bottom of book) on each pocket to hold down sides of pockets.

 Cut cardstock and design paper, mine is Lili of the Valley's Classic Christmas Paper Pad, and color images with distress ink refills or your favorite coloring medium to decorate all pages and pockets of the cookbook.   Make tags with the new Christmas Recipes stamps and add ribbon.

  

Here I have used Christmas Snooze along with a large doily and the Double Loop MS Punch.

Here I used Plum Pudding and the letters are from my Cricut.

Cut 6x6 pieces of card and attach recipe cards to the front for a large tag insert. I found some free blank Christmas ones on the internet.   Add circles to the top for pull tabs. Tuck into the large pockets.

 I also tucked more blank recipe cards into the pocket behind the tags for even more recipes.  This page uses Icing the Cake.

After all the pages have been decorated and the Spellbinders poinsettia die cut has been glued to the front, cut a small strip of design paper 2”x6” to cover the edge of the book and hide the seam.  Do not put glue in the center where the folds are, just on the portion that will overlap the front and back cover.  It will need to move when the book is opened and closed.

 

 Add all sorts of recipe cards, tags, and journal pieces to all the pockets in the book for the finishing touches.

 I hope you like the project.  Lili of the Valley has some of the most adorable stamps to make these recipes books with or even a super cute baby book!  Oh, just think how cute that would be!!! The possibilities are endless.  Have fun!
