Goodbye April, and goodbye Lou …

Good morning bloggers, I hope that everyone is well on this Monday morning

It’s the last day of April so sadly we have to say goodbye to out first guest designer Lou 

This is the final card she’s made for us using one of our favourite stamps from this years new designs 'best dress'   ...and what a fabulous colour scheme!

As soon as I saw this pretty LOTV image best dress it made me think of being all dressed up for a party. She is just waiting to go in at the garden gate with her gift and flowers …and she is on time too!

I have coloured the sweet girl with VersaColor cubes and Marvy pens then used a Labels Four nestabilitie to cut her out

I put a bit of stickles on her dress/present and some distressing with walnut stain

The gate has been stamped and then heat embossed onto acetate, the bunting has been stamped then cut out and threaded with linen thread

The small flowers are cut from a QuicKutz die,i added just the odd pearl in the centre and the stems are kraft card

I have cut the Tim Holtz decorative strip die twice to make it just a bit wider and tied the clock charm with linen thread too

Close your Eyes

today I would like to show you my project for this month. I´ve made a book card and therefore I´ve chosen a super cute image of the latest Lili of the Valley collection, which is called Close your Eyes. I also used the lovely Filigree Heart, which you can see on the inside of the book and I played again with a little tag, which can be put into a small bag.

Dawny P here and today it’s my turn to share a card with you.

Following our circles and boys theme, I’ve gone with a boy’s card and I decided to use this cute image called

Scooter Boy

He is one of the new releases and you will be able to get your mitts on them soon as soon :)

New Boy Stamp

Good morning! are you all as excited as I am that there are some new boy stamps coming, I love making boy cards they are so easy to sling together and take no time at all to make...

I have coloured Walk The Plank with copics and a touch of white pen and I have used lots of layers.
The nephew sentiment is from the For Him set.
I have distressed all the edges but kept it very simple...

Isn't he just a typical little boy?  I love this one the best!

Lazy Afternoon

Hello LOTV fans! Continuing on with our boy theme this month, I've chosen this sleepy cutie for my card today. 'Lazy Afternoon' was stamped on kraft cardstock and colored with an assortment of colored pencils. This effect is so dramatic and beautiful, I don't know why I don't think to do it more often. 

The adorable papers are from Kaisercraft's 'Tiny Woods' paper pad. Perfect for little boys! I'm sure that's exactly what this little guy was doing before he decided on a little snooze under a tree, running around the woods getting dirty, lol! 

Instead of fancy embellishments for this little boy card, I went with a simple ribbon folded over like a prize ribbon. A sentiment from 'Set 19' tops it off. I use these clear sentiments a LOT, I love them! There's something for every occasion and it's so easy to add a sentiment to any card.

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend full of gorgeous weather like we did here in Texas.   

I'm here to show you a fun male card using "Happy Times".  Doesn't he look so relaxed with his little slippers off and hangin in his sockies?!!!

I have colored him with distress inks and the newsprint is really from our local newspaper.  The blue paper is Maja Design.  The "Relax" sentiment is from Mixed Circular Sentiments set.

He's definitely a cutie and would be perfect for a Father's Day or Male Birthday card!!

We have some exciting news – todays post is our 1000th!!!

To celebrate, and to say thanks for all your support in making our blog so successful, we are going to randomly pick a couple of comments from those that are left on todays card and the 2 lucky winners will get a prize

Lou is our guest designer for April and you’ve loved her work so far. I’m sure that this card will be no exception so over to her;

 

 

 

 

With the sweet Bunny Cupcakes image I thought I would make a frame as the picnic scene looks like a photo and I have used Labels Two Nestabilities to make a double frame. The image has been coloured with VersaColor cubes and Marvy pens and I distressed the edges with Walnut Stain.

I have followed the theme with a die cut cupcake and used the designer paper to make the cupcakes case and paper pieced the little cupcakes too.

I put some glossy accents for the cherries and the icing on the big cupcake.

I love buttons so added a few of those too,a charm and the LOTV sentiment layered onto the fishtail banner die cut shape.

First of all this morning we have a few cards to show you from our June

June tends to be behind the scenes, she’s a bit of a whizz with the markers and she colours images for us which we then use for advertising and promotions

Sailing Boat

I was going to put good morning but it is now afternoon, I am running a little late today so Good Afternoon everyone, today I (Pops) am sharing a boy card with you all, I love making boy cards...

I have used Sailing Boat and coloured him with markers, the papers are Echo Park Birthday Boy and they have all been distressed with chalk inks, I have added some die cuts stars that I have distressed and run through a ribbler, and the sentiment is from the For Him set perfect for these images...

Paper: My Minds Eye

By the River...

Hello friends! Continuing with our boy & circle theme this month here's another card using LOTV's 'By the River'. Look at that sweet innocent expression on the little boy's face as he watches his little boat float down the river. 

It's a water scene, so I felt the need to water color this stamp. I used my Tombow markers, some Distress inks and a water brush to quickly color it in on hot press water color paper. 

The papers are from an old Cosmo Cricket collection, 'Little Boys' I think it's called. I kept the rest of the card very simple, a bit of herringbone embossed paper for texture and a bit of soft sky ribbon tied in a knot. I also added some little dots around the edges of the card with a Souffle pen, kind of like faux stitching.
