A calendar for Mum, and goodbye Lena …

Good morning bloggers, it’s the 29th of February - I wonder if anyone has made or received a surprise proposal today? Don’t miss your chance or you’ll have to wait 4 more years lol!

March is going to be busy on the blog, remember there is a new post on here every single day and we’re hoping to give you lots of hints, tips and ideas for card making, gifts and even scrapbooking.

We are going to have 2 themes again, and for March the first one is Mum. I’m sure lots of you will be wanting some inspiration for Mother’s day cards and gifts so I promise you that there will be plenty  ...as a taster here is a fabulous little calendar by our Lena Katrine

Lena is leaving our design team to go back to her studies so this will be her last post on our blog.

She's been an amazing DT member and has produced the most incredible work for us, we will all miss her and we're hoping that she will find the time to pop back occasionally as a guest designer for us.

  
  

       

Teddy for Mum (project):

When you're having a lot of friends and family, it's quite easy to forget someone's Birthday, so I decided to make a Birthday Calendar to keep up with all the Birthdays during the year. I've recycled a simple Photo Frame Album from IKEA, but I'll guess you can make the rack by using cardstock and a Bind-It-All machine.

I cut green cardstock a little bit smaller than the plastic rack, and added panels of white cardstock and patterned paper.

The template to the calendar, I got from my friend Marianne, but I resized it, and changed the the letters and numbers like I wanted them. I printed out the calendar on copy paper 280g - the same as I coloured my image on. The image is just perfect for a February posting, since we celebrate Mothers Day in February here in Norway.

I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch holes, and set eyelets to fit the rings on the rack

Gift Wrapped, and some news ...

Nearly the end of February already, can you believe it?

We have some news for you today, we're delighted to tell you that we will be holding Mini Make and Takes at The Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza show in Harrogate on both Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March 2012. 

You can come along and create with our very own colouring guru Bev Rochester  using promarkers and our latest goodies!

 

 

There's no need to book, just come along to our stand at the show and take a seat!

There is also a breakfast workshop each day (booking required)
Saturday is sold out but I think there is still availability on the Sunday

Spring is hopefully just around the corner, but for now we have a card by Dawny P using gift wrapped, these lovely bright Spring colours should cheer everyone up!!

2 projects to share with you today

 

 

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a lovely weekend

We have  a treat for you today, Pops has 2 projects to share with you

Today I am sharing a little notebook with you that I made using up scraps of paper and Messy Messages...

 

 

I have stamped my image on to Neenah Card and coloured with markers, pencils and chalks, I have distressed the edges with chalks as always. I have used up scraps of MME Breeze, I love to saves scraps up for things like this.

I have used a notebook punch for the edge of the paper, and a Bracket Tab Die for the side.

I have added a little pearl Heart and then popped it all in my Bind It All machine to create my little notebook. I have used up scraps of Sky Blue Seam Binding to the rings for a bit of texture and on the letter I have stamped a heart from the new Love Sentiments and then added some Stardust....

The second project for you today from Pops is a tag card made with bunches of love which is also on special offer at £3.00 for a limited time

 

 

I have coloured my image with markers, pencils and chalks, the papers are scrap bits of MME Blink of an eye and Everyday Flair, all the edges have been distressed with chalk ink, I have added some Fabric behind the image, I have used Kraft Card and stamped my Sentiment on to it, I have also added a Corner Stamp to the back piece, I have added a tiny bit of scrap ric a rac, some scrap Lace and a string of Pearls, I have added some Blooms and 10mm Open Roses, I have punched my own leaves and added lots of Stardust for extra sparkle...

 

 

I have made the tag myself, these are perfect for using up scraps…

1. Take a bit if card stock and cut to 15cm by 29.5cm.
2. Fold in over at 13cm.
3. Cut of the corners to create your tag.
4. Decorate as you would like it to be.
5. Cut a scallop and plain circle and glue together, then fold in half.
6. Pop this over the top of your tag card and punch a hole through the centre.
7. I have used wet glue and an eyelet.
8. Using up scraps of ribbon and lace for the top.
