Good morning everyone, today I have something a bit different to show you…
Mary was the winner of our recent ‘anything but a card’ competition and I thought you’d like to see her winning entry;
Isn’t it gorgeous, and Mary has written a few instructions so you can have a go yourselves;
Firstly I couldn't have managed it without the Ribbon Girl 3mm double sided sticky tape which is perfect for adding long lengths of narrow fabrics in nice straight lines, and of course, the beautifully coloured mini masterpiece from Lili of the Valley!
I measured the top and sides of the box then cut pieces of red card a little smaller, then green paper a little smaller than the card. I matted the paper to the card then glued the card pieces to the top and sides of the box very carefully so everything lined up perfectly.
I matted the mini masterpiece to red card, then glued white lace to the underside of the red card, all the way round, being careful at the corners so it would lie flat.
I glued this card topper to the top of the box then cut strips of faux diamante and glued in place at the edge of the image using 3mm double sided sticky tape.
I cut four lengths of 7mm red satin ribbon, made little bows and adhered them to the corners
For the sides, I added 3mm double sided tape all the way around the bottom of the box then adhered red lace and white ric rac, making sure the joins were at the back of the box
I did the same to the edge of the box lid.
I added 4 large flat back pearls to the bottom of the box to act as feet
You can see the items Mary used on the Ribbon Girl website here
Thanks to everyone who entered, we had some beautiful projects and it was very hard to choose … I’m sure you’ll agree that this beautiful box was a worthy winner …well done Mary!
See you tomorrow, have a lovely day
