Good morning everyone, I hope you’re all looking forward to a nice long bank holiday weekend
I don’t think the weather here in the UK is going to be that good …so what’s new!
On the rare occasion that the sun does appear I always feel obliged to go in the garden and make the most of it so at least if it’s raining it means more lovely crafty time (got to look on the bright side of things!!)
I have something different for you today, we get asked frequently how our images are coloured in on our cards. Depending who made the card it will usually be either Promarkers, Copics, pencils or inks
Today I have a tutorial using the distress inks as a colouring medium for those of you that would like to have a go yourselves
Some of our designers (Dena, Fleur, Gretha) regularly colour with the inks and the cards they make for us get many many compliments, people are always a bit surprised when we say they have been coloured using the distress inks
Dena has done us this video tutorial to get you started, she uses the re-inkers but you can also use the distress ink pads. Remember not to put a wet brush onto your pad or it will spoil it, instead use a non porous surface such as a craft mat or a tile as your palette, dab a bit of the ink on it, and then and use it in exactly the same way
So that you can can use it for reference this video will be put onto the tutorials page here which you can access anytime from the top of this page and also on the website
Here are some of Dena’s cards that have been coloured with the inks so that you can see the amazing results that can be achieved (with a bit of practise!!)
I hope you found that useful, we’d love to get your feedback on the video and don’t forget any comments that you leave will go into a monthly draw to win a £25 Lili of the Valley voucher
Make sure you keep stopping by because although it’s the holidays we will still have a new post every day for you - have a lovely weekend x
