The last day of August ….

Good morning all, can you believe we are at the end of August already, where does the time go?

That means it’s sadly time to say goodbye to our guest designer of the month …and this month it has been the fabulous Lena Katrine

You all love her work and this last post is going to be no exception! She has made these scrumptious little bookmarks to share with you using our companion stamps and there are also some instructions for how to make them, over to Lena ….

1. Cut Cardstock in to size 5" x 6". Find the middle of the top side measuring 6", fold in the corners.

2. Cut a panel out of DP for the front in size 4 13/16" x 5 13/16". Cut off the corners to match the grade on the Book Mark in cardstock.

3. Cut 2 panels out of DP's to the back side of the Book Mark, 1 in size 1 7/8" x 5 7/8", and 1 in size 4" x 4". Cut the square diagonally (makes 2 triangles), and use just the one triangle on the top of the back.

4. Glue the one piece of DP's on to the front of the cardstock...

5. ... and the 2 pieces to the back.

6. Find/cut out bits and bobs to add to the front...

7. ...and to the back.

Then you're ready to embellish your Corner Book Mark as you wish

Aren’t they just gorgeous!  …and what a lovely little gift.

I do hope you’ve enjoyed the tutorial and that you’ll have a go at making some, I’m know I’m going to

Thank you so much to Lena Katrine for agreeing to be out guest designer and make sure you pop back tomorrow when I’ll be introducing our fantastic new guest designer for September. We’re delighted to have have her on board and here’s a little clue   …she has a constant companion when she’s crafting (who calls the shots!!)

Have a lovely day

Christmas Angel – Round Bauble

Good morning crafters, I hope you all enjoyed a lovely long bank holiday weekend.

The weather let us down again but it gave me opportunity to enjoy a lazy afternoon yesterday watching Sense and Sensibility on the TV and then do a bit of crafting

Today’s card is one I made using Christmas Angel – Round Bauble  from the Christmas people stamps which were launched a couple of weeks ago. There is a matching one also with this called Christmas Angel – Oval Bauble.

Sorry the picture is not very good, you can’t really see but the bauble is glittered (I love a bit of glitter on my cards!)

The sentiment is from Set 26 Simply Sophisticated which has a wonderful selection of greeting for all occasions

Have a lovely day everyone, thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to leave a comment if you would like to be entered into our £25 candy draw which will be made on Friday

Teddy With Penguin …

Good morning all, I hope you’re having  a nice long weekend and enjoying the bank holiday

I have another Christmas card to show you today, this one is by Claudia Rosa and she’s used the Teddy with Penguin stamp from the new Christmas Animals which were launched last week

Teddy With Penguin - Claudia

Again it’s lovely to see some different colour choices on the Christmas cards, the DT have stayed away from traditional red and green on quite a few of their cards this year and I think they’re worked really well, I’m sure you’ll agree we’ve had some beautiful cards to share with you using the new Christmas images

See you tomorrow

A Colouring Tutorial ….

Good morning everyone, I hope you’re all looking forward to a nice long bank holiday weekend
I don’t think the weather here in the UK is going to be that good  …so what’s new!
On the rare occasion that the sun does appear I always feel obliged to go in the garden and make the most of it so at least if  it’s raining it means more lovely crafty time (got to look on the bright side of things!!)

I have something different for you today, we get asked frequently how our images are coloured in on our cards. Depending who made the card it will usually be either Promarkers, Copics, pencils or inks

Today I have a tutorial using the distress inks as a colouring medium for those of you that would like to have a go yourselves

Some of our designers (Dena, Fleur, Gretha) regularly colour with the inks and the cards they make for us get many many compliments, people are always a bit surprised when we say they have been coloured using the distress inks

Dena has done us this video tutorial to get you started, she uses the re-inkers but you can also use the distress ink pads.  Remember not to put a wet brush onto your pad or it will spoil it, instead use a non porous surface such as a craft mat or a tile as your palette, dab a bit of the ink on it, and then and use it in exactly the same way

So that you can can use it for reference this video will be put onto the tutorials page here which you can access anytime from the top of this page and also on the website

Here are some of Dena’s cards that have been coloured with the inks so that you can see the amazing results that can be achieved (with a bit of practise!!)

Mr Fix It (2)
 IMG_1878          Snow Queen (2)

I hope you found that useful, we’d love to get your feedback on the video and don’t forget any comments that you leave will go into a monthly draw to win a £25 Lili of the Valley voucher

Make sure you keep stopping by because although it’s the holidays we will still have a new post every day for you - have a lovely weekend x

Furry Festive Friends …

Morning all, I hope you managed to get hold of the stamps and sentiments that you wanted from the new launch – we’ve had some amazing feedback and you’re loving them all!
We do try and make sure there is plenty of stock of everything but the  Christmas Grungy Messages were hugely popular and sold out straight away so if you got those well done. Don’t worry if you missed them, we’ll have some more in about a weeks time

I have two cards today to share with you using two of the images from the Furry Festive Friends and the cute little Christmas Sentiment Tags - one in red and one in green
These are by Lena Katrine who used to be on our design team but left earlier in the year to concentrate on her studies. She can’t resist popping back to do a few sneak peeks for us and as usual they are stunning.
